REFERENCE BIBLE VERSES
Hebrews 10:24-25 | And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (ESV)
OBJECTIVES
Follow up with one another with what they have done after the previous week’s discussion. By sharing each other’s experience with one another, it encourages and motivates everyone to perform shema.
CONTENT
ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER
- We often wrestle with the idea of how significant our testimonies are. We often undermine how interesting our story can be for others, who may be going through similar experiences. Eventually, our story stuck with ourselves only becomes a boring story or a bad experience that we want to forget completely.
- However, we need to realize that we are put in those circumstances not because we want to, but because God has intended us to go through it. When we realize that we have gone through it together with God, our testimony becomes less about who we are and what we did, but more about who Christ is and what He has done for us.
- The goal of our story becomes good news that brings glory to the One who has saved us – Jesus Christ.
- As we share our stories with one another, it encourages others that God truly works in our lives especially during our trying times. And it also stirs one another to share their experiences together with God, inevitably creating impact by introducing Jesus to people around us.
SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Follow up with the action plan that you have come up with in the previous week. Encourage one another to share their experience as they perform those action plans and share Christ’s love to people around them.
- Discuss how you felt as you share God’s love or the gospel. How did the other party react?
- Do not be discouraged with whatever the result may be. Remember that our job is only to share Christ’s love. We may or may not see the fruit of our actions, but believe that God has a plan for it.
- Consider what we could’ve done better to improve the next time the opportunity comes again. How can we improve ourselves to be better prepared whenever we are entrusted with similar circumstances?
REFLECTION/DISCUSSION QUESTION
- Discuss how you felt as you share God’s love or the gospel. How did the other party react?
- Consider what you could’ve done better to improve the next time the opportunity comes again. How can you improve yourselves to be better prepared whenever you are entrusted with similar circumstances?
